Lyz Bly has a Master of Arts degree in Art History from Ohio State University. She is director of the B.K. Smith Gallery at Lake Erie College in Painesville, and has worked for a number of nonprofit arts organizations, including the Akron Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art (Cleveland), and the Cleveland Film Society. She and her husband, Kristin Bly-Rogers, renovated their century home to include a first floor art exhibition space (newsense gallery), where they mount two contemporary art shows per year. Lyz is art critic at the Cleveland Free Times, and has written art criticism for other regional publications, including dialogue and Northern Ohio Live. She is currently working on a Ph.D. in American Women's History at Case Western Reserve University.
