| With
Domestic Bliss, we explored the complexities and intricacies
of domestic collaboration. Here, five couples who share not only
their daily lives in relationship, but also a proclivity for creative
involvement were placed in a weekend marathon that invited a sense
of partnership and community. Most every partnership involves
the daily logistics of working as a team – but often, our
creativity is more our own, more personal, more interior. Domestic
Bliss brought that interior realm to the challenge of collaborating
as the process of the exhibition unfolded in a weekend of close
quarters. Each couple worked for nearly 40 hours to conceive,
design, debate, and build a collaborative project. The result
was a cumulative product that had a memory, a message, and a life
in an exhibition space that, quite fittingly, existed in a home. |
